Thanks Ben and the Games Uncovered team for this important opportunity.
“We’re still playing Master of Alchemy since our initial iPad review and slightly later our iPhone impression too. With both games receiving an A grade we were interested in getting some of the developer’s thought on the title; so we sat down with DarkWave Games to discuss the game!”
Jason Coe: “One of the greatest features of the iPhone that sets it apart from other smartphones on the market is the multitouch user interface, a brilliant gesture control that has changed the face of mobile as we know it. Many companies have tried to integrate this UI into their applications and games but none have done it as beautifully as DarkWave Games and their new title, Master of Alchemy.
I sat down with Alain Bonati, Marketing Manager of DarkWave Games to discuss the history of their company and the iPhone, how multitouch has changed the industry and details about their latest title, Master of Alchemy.”
As we made for Master of Alchemy HD, we have posted on our Youtube channel (www.youtube.com/ darkwavegames) two gameplay videos of Master of Alchemy iPhone version.
We have kept the same general video structure…so you can see the hard optimization work we made to bring Master of Alchemy HD to iPhone, iPod Touch and iPhone4/Retina Display.
The first video introduces the Master of Alchemy’s gameplay – we tried to summarize the main Master of Alchemy’s gameplay peculiarities.
The second video is a full solution of a demo level (so, you can see all the video: it is a level that you won’t find when you’ll play to MoA ) …you will able to evaluate the big quality of Master of Alchemy. Consider that it is a level with only one target, without physics obstacles, disappearing walls, buttons, etc. – Anyway, you’ll be able to appreciate the different behaviors of the diverse material states (because of the physics engine) , the use of transformation tools in order to reach the required target, the management of colors.
We have used the same demo level we used for the Master of Alchemy Full level solution video…if you want, you can compare the two videos: they are both available on our Youtube channel (www.youtube.com/darkwavegames)
Hey Guys … It’s incredible … We can’t believe that: Master of Alchemy HD, till now, is the best iPad game – see the image below!
Master of Alchemy HD is better than Plants vs Zombies HD, Flight Control HD, Monkey Island 2 and Osmos for iPad … Yes, we know…by now…but: Let us gloat a little!
“[...]Â If you like strategy games, lots of replay value, and hours of entertainment, this is probably the title for you. Master of Alchemy HD integrates the Crystal online-gaming platform, which allows for leaderboard and achievement integration, which is a plus! For $4.99, which may seem steep to some of you frugal iPad gamers, the total game time definitely makes the price of purchase worth it.”
“Overall I really did (and still do) enjoy Master Of Alchemy HD. Visually, it’s exactly what I want in an iPad game and gameplay wise, it has the perfect balance between fun factor and difficulty. If you love quality puzzle games and have been looking for new titles to keep your iPad company, you surely can’t go wrong with this unique and delightful puzzler.”
